In La Défense, Paris’ business district, this series explores the point where the individual begins to merge with and momentarily complete the surrounding landscape, activating its geometry through presence and movement.
The people who appear here are anonymous figures, encountered during the lunch break: a narrow interval in which work pauses while the architecture continues its own rhythm. Through reflections, shadows, and gestures, each figure appears to complete the visual and spatial logic of the district, briefly resolving the frame of the urban landscape.
For more than ten years, I have worked as a technical writer inside these same towers, crossing the esplanade during my own lunch break. A few years ago, I began photographing what I saw there, returning repeatedly to this space where daily life and built structure quietly overlap and momentarily complete one another.
